About JMBA:
JMBA thanks and respects the Áak’w & T’aakú Kwáan on whose land we live, ride, and work. These people have been stewards of this land since time immemorial. Gunalchéesh.
The Juneau Mountain Bike Alliance (JMBA) is a volunteer organization with a mission to promote and improve local mountain biking opportunities. We facilitate mountain bike trail development, construction, and ongoing maintenance. We host community events like races and group rides and collaborate with public and private landowners.
We aim to foster community and outdoor recreation, bring people of all ages and skills together, and to support the growth of mountain biking in Juneau, Alaska.
JMBA ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:
The Juneau Mountain Bike Alliance recognizes that access to outdoor recreation should be equal opportunity for all races and identities. We are committed to being allies. We support the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & People of Color) community and care about how we can make mountain biking more inclusive in Juneau. Recreationalists can be advocates for social justice and change.
In the coming months we will work to diversify our leadership and riding community, and increase our outreach efforts to foster more inclusive events and projects.
We are committed to change and we encourage our membership to commit as well.
